I see that Pushpaji has become an expert in making maa kolams in all levels. :)
How do you make this?
This is made with rice paste (you have to soak about half a cup of raw white rice for an hour or two, grind it to a smooth consistency, and use a small piece of cotton cloth to dip in the paste, and draw your designs on the floor by squeezing the cloth, a little at a time). For the brown paste, you would have to use a paste made of reddish-brown clay. We call the reddish-clay paste "Kaavi". I've used my daughter's left over clay chunks from her ceramics class last year. It does work to a certain extent. :)
Nice one Pushpaji.
