Superb lamp kolam Uma...looks very grand and pretty. :) Here we get lamps only during diwali and I stock them for karthigai. I prefer always brass lamps and earthen lamps as I feel it makes the place more serene and divine. :) and by the way nowadays I have become a fan of your titles and descriptions

nice lamp kolam uma.u can paint the diyas yourself.buy some design diyas and soak it in water for 1hour.take out and dry it in sunlight for whole day.buy (fevicryl)mettallica paint in stationery shop and apply to it,let it dry for an hour.then u can use it,use it only for decor-not for litting.golden yellow, crimson red, copper colours will look great or other colours u can try,use pony hair brush available in the same shop
Karthigai kolam is very cute. Blue color lamps are very rare... where from u got it?( nice imagination)
I am also a lover of collecting different type of lamps.(I'll try to present them on the Karthigai day.want to decorate them with the help of my DIl, daughter and granddaughter Sahana, who have come to visit me)
Aha Uma, all thanks to you I am getting new new ideas for painting... I had recently painted lamps (big and small ) for my mom using water colors only for decorative purpose... let me see if I can take a shot of those... As for your kolam dear, I am enjoying the new new patterns you are providing us... this one too is very beautifully done.
