nandri Indira.... and Lata I sure owe all this to you - it is because of you all my creativity is oozing out i suppose... thanks over and over again :-)
Quite a nice arrangement. There is a ggod contrast between the petals and the white
flowers. Please try to find an attractive circular mat on which you can place the
circular plate.
Regards! - mOhana
thanks for the splendid idea JKM - why did it not strike me so far??? my first job tomoro will be to go hunting for a pretty round mat to match my urli.. and by the way this bronze urli belonged to my mum's grandmom who lived in munnar it seems... i am so glad mum preserved it so well... (and pssst! i convinced mum to give it to me)
What a nice family antique piece! I don't own any urli, and I think it would be a heavy piece of a vessel to pack too, even if I decide to get one from India! :)
you bet Lata - everytime i have to carry it to empty the water ufff!! heavy indeed... and Indira please feel free to call me Judy... my mum has preserved (from her grandma's time) two copper water pots which i am planning to flick from her next... let's see :-P
Judy I have big urulis at home and often put flower rangolis in it and keep in the enterance or northeast corner of the house(as per vaastu.. it gives positive energy) Only thing is i did not take any potos. Yesterday sahana picked up some flowers todo this type of rangoli. will upload that soon.
Rajamma thank you for sharing that tip on vasthu though i dont follow it - my urli is kept in front of my pooja shelf.. it used to be at the entrance but since summer has set in the flowers dont last for more than one day so i brought it inside and now my flowers last more than three days.. i have kept that small container outside instead... Lakshmi dear Judy poodhumay please - anyway thanks for your comments...
