The combination of green and orange instantly puts me in a patriotic mood. God, I wish I had one more chance to see the Beating Retreat!

I like this quite a bit. I like the weaving in and out of the lines. That gives a three-dimensional effect. Do you know, you must have waited for two to three weeks to post this? I will leave it to you to find out why :-) It is also possible to connect all the four diagonal squares, am I right? You made my day (or night here now)! Thanks for the hard work and sharing it. In fact, I would like to have it! Regards! - mOhana

Actually mOhanaji, Rajamma ma'am had uploaded it sometime last week, just like many of our other members had, but I could only find time now to upload them (have a long way to catch up). I'd mentioned in my blog that I'll need more time, but people have started re-uploading the same images that they did last week...this just goes on to show their enthusiasm :)

Thanks Rajammaji, you made me to re-remember my Grandmas creations, who was my Rangoli Guru too. She was expert in writing these yeLe hases (line rangolis). I still remember holding her and learning how to draw two parallel lines using three fingers (thumb, fore-finger & middle fingers).

Thank you all for appreciating this kolam. I learnt it from my grandma and now I am in the process of teaching my grand daughter, so hopefully this art will continue to grow generation after generation. Sumathi if you imagine a single line in place of 4 lines you can find how simple this kolam will be. Try drawing it in a paper and see.

Wow - Rajam thanks for sharing this link - don't know how I missed commenting on this lovely kolam of yours. The presentation of your kolam is slightly different from that of Hema's not only by the angle but also by the slight curves in joining the two sections - lovely colouring and thanks for this wonderful creation.
