Looks very artistic! The somewhat wrinkled texture of this paper adds to the charm :)
Any psychologists around in ikolam....hello....any body, somebody?
This is very nice. Reminds me of Bengali alpanas and also
folk patterns drawn in rural Gujarat. The beauty of such
patterns is that there is perfection in imperfection or
imperfection in perfection. In fact patterns like this
are found on walls of huts and other such dwellings.
Try this on a white or yellow background in red colour.
That will remind one of red clay on a white wall. This
also looks like a paper cutting. In fact, members can
take circular papers (like filter papers or some circular
chart papers) and cut out patterns and redraw or paint
them as rangolis. The possibilities, I must say, are
immense. Again congrats for something novel!
Best of luck and regards! - mOhana
The art of making intricate patterns cut out of paper (using scissors) is called Kirigami. Snowflakes are a popular choice among little kids.
Here is an example of Kirigami:

Meena ,realy it comeup excelent.. thanks for sharing....
In Calcutta u get those "Chapa shadis" (Saree basically) where u find these kind of block prints in pure cotton. Good idea for using these designs for Rangolis.
