What a beauty! Well done Indu! :)
There is one little thing that is in my mind right now, hope you would not mind it if I say it; using a single color (like the blue that you've used in the inner arches, or the shade of magenta I see in the center of the design) to color the outermost petals might have enhanced the design a bit more. Gorgeous lamps :)
big and beautiful rangoli indu mam...sure it would have taken hrs to complete...
gud one. very nice.
even that bright green would have done the trick Lata... Pretty colours and neatly made. Did you win a prize?? I am sure you would have...
Thank you all. Infact lata i wanted to alternate that light green and blue for the outer petals but The rangoli was sooo big i didnt have enough colour powder even though i had 4 packets of each color. Had to include the other color at the last moment as only of that color did i have large quantity.
Rani maam it took me 4 hrs to compleat, that too one of my friend helped me color it.
It was for the Times of India contest last dec, No didnt make it judy.
I liked the centre portion's coloring pattern, thought not so legible. Lamps add extra beauty to kolam.. Painstaking four hours work has done its magic.. Excellent maam..
nice design..and colours...sooo big colour full rangoli!!!geart...
colourful one. The central portion uptill the yellow, looks different.
Good attempt. Valuable suggestion from friends!
Indhu maam this is so awesome... lights give that extra elegance to the rangoli... sad that u didnt win
very cute,neat,grt,etc
Very beautiful design and colorful too. nicely decorated with lamps, look at the reflection of them on the door. Indu, when u r entering a competition, you must aim at perfection in so many areas. Knowing the time limit you should select a smaller design . Spend some time in drawing it symmetrically.. Then you must decide the colors to put in various layers before starting. Once you color it and if does not reflect symmetry you can not change it.As I told earlier, judges eyes are different. They look on weak areas and reduce the marks.Time management is very important in competition. A simple kolam well drawn,( with a message or theme) colored with few matching colors and few decorations will enable the creator to walk away with the prize. All the best for the next time

Flowers, lamps, good colours and great symmetry, all that I am fond of are present in this creation. Excellent presentation!

Nice colorful kolam.
Thank you rajamma maam will your advice in mind next time around, but for this particular competition there was no time limit, we have to do the kolam or rangoli take a snap and send it to times of india, thats all. If we are in the city limits their camera man will come home and take a snap. All the prizes for that particular week went for sikku kolams. I think Every one at ikolam knows by now that Indhu and sikku kolam are very bad combination.
Thank you vinci, lakshmi, sjnt, jaya maam, pushpa, uma raja, mohana sir, Rajusree.
