Very beautifully created Jayanthi. I especially like the yellow outline around the purple colored rose. :) It was nice of you to attribute the source of inspiration for your rangoli. Unfortunately, this courtesy is not always extended. Once in a while, I do stumble upon work outside iKolam that obviously could be traced back to the kolams/comments found here. This perplexes and upsets me. But, I force myself to get over it, by focusing on the good side of people, which is aplenty at iKolam. :)

Jayanthi, copy adippadhum oru kalai dhaan. In the original the creater will have full freedom, whereas when u copy ur imagination gets restricted and so u will concentrate only in repeating the features rather than enhancing its minute details.But we always get tempted to copy the excellent work of others we admired and I feel copying is in a way giving tribute to the original.Here u have done a good job. rajamma

Copying is the first step to creation. It is not always easy too (like writing songs for a dubbed movie), Everybody copies somebody and adds a bit and herer and there and passes it on as his or hers. You have done a neat and painstaking work. Quite a good effect. Roses are red, violets are purple, leaves are green and this is serene! Regards! - mOhana

Just to clarify, copying if fine. Where would we be, if we hadn't copied from our grandmas and moms? :) But, my emphasis was on attribution, and I think it is essential. :)

Lata, Eversince I saw Vani's rangoli's I wanted to try them and the platform happened to be this year's Navratri in our complex. To everybody in the complex, who commented the rangoli , I told them that the credit goes to my motivator who did a much much better work than this. This is like Puliyai paarthu poonai choodu potta kadhai. Lata, I completely agree with what you are saying.... It is a nice gesture to attribute if it is a motivational work.

Jayanthi, I compared yours with original. Though it is tough to get the depth and 3D effect of Vaniji's shadings I can say that you have justified copying!
