Wow Julie dear, u have done a wonderful job pa. Really nice freehand design. I think you should start doing more like this. Just take a little more care regarding the symmetry dear, (I am the wrong person to say cos i cant do a good symmetrical kolam that is why i dont attempt a freehand pattern.

Nice free hand design. I think Pushpa is telling you to improve on the symmetry side.I.e inside 5 petal flower design if continued in the outer design also it will look better.

Nice work on a different floor. Five and eight do not have a common divisor. Better to avoid such combinations.
