here is a picture of a beautiful peacock in our frontyard, dancing to the tunes of the morning bliss!it looks divine to see them fan their feathers, and converge them in to a single pony like plot. all mornings they come near when i put kolams, flies over and sits on the coconut tree in our home.for the first time when i heard them "coo"i was deeply shocked of hearing because i was imagining it to coo like a cucukoo.then i thought, may be,God gives people only a single best trait!,only a few good souls are lucky enough to get all traits at the best!.

Can we please trade houses? Your kolams and pictures make me feel so homesick :)
What an experience Deepa! Just imagining the scenery you've described, makes me think of a hidden resort, or a special spot somewhere in the middle of a county side complete with lakes and streams. You are so lucky!
Yeah, the cooing of peacock is horrible contrast to its dance! I had the oppertunity of seeing seeing lots and lots of peacocks when I visited my son at BITS Pilani in Rajasthan few years ago!
a 10 day trip to Dehradun made me feel homesick,i can feel what u really miss!though there are some advantages being in this area,i experience some thrills too sometimes.one such incident last month: there is a newly constructed roost inside the plantain bunch which was newly grown.a sparrow family became our tenants, whenever i passed the tree it chirped loud, and viewed me like an enemy in the mornings when i pass the tree to our vehicle shed to pick up a bucket to water our plants.in the same afternoon it chirped so continuous at around 3 pm,i thought it would be the squirrels jumping here and there from the coconut tree.but i peeped to saw what is really so disturbing to them, suddenly i saw a small "saarai" snake,in the size of our little finger clinging to the roost smelling the newly laid egg.i yelled and threw a bucket of water over it.the snake fell down and i could not see where it went.i still panic to go inside the vehicle shed as i have a doubt of snake's presence.it was too small but as the proverb says"paambai kandaalal padaiyum nadungum" i panic and scratch my feet while entering everytime to be cautious.
after that day the sparrow family hatched the egg and flew out within 5 days.
sometimes i feel lucky at the same time it becomes so exciting and thrilled to be in our "anjanathri niwas".my relatives call it jokingly "jungle niwas",due to its enchanting safari experiences.
lata didi you are welcome always, guests like you can have a short trip in the paddy fields, coconut orchard, and an ancient agricultural well about 30 feet deep, overflowing with spring water.
i saw a movie in HBO starring Cameron Diaz and Kate winslet, dont remember the name exactly, where they trade houses to relieve from their daily bored routine.i was reminded of that when u asked me for that Lata didi!
