The design also look like the basic hair-net that some ladies wear to secure their hair knot. For me, I'm imagining one with pink border like Deepa's! :)
what u said is right it's a damn easy kolam.when i first saw it in flickr tags i was wondering how this network is possible,later i found the secret of this simple intersecting lines inside eight equally divided sections.
