Veni I have one doubt - you do put the dots horizontally or vertically?? I always do them horizontally (learnt like that from the beginning). Such a neat job and these are indeed a treat to watch - thanks for giving us so many chikku kolams :)
As usual very neat and beautiful, Veni. I put the dots vertically for all types of kolams Judy. This also goes to my collection Veni (with your permission).

Yes pushpa, my granite black slab can not accomodate more than 13 dots. Big means I must go to terrece where rain and wind prevent me from even putting the dots Ok Rani/Veni jodi yin kolathai rasippom. Judy I also put horizontal dots .i.

Great chikku kOlam! I don't know since I never placed dots on the floor. But my intuition tells me that vertical placing will make it more precise.

Very nice. used to draw such big kolams decades back, when in Chennai. But mostly used to get up too late, and on festival days we could not put chikku kolams...wasted such good opportunities to use the huge mann tharai in the courtyard!
